Mandarin Martini

This is an excellent time of year to purchase citrus fruit.  I was at the grocery store and found over a dozen varieties of oranges.  I  honed in on the Satsuma oranges which are better known as Mandarin oranges.  In the beginning of November, I posted a recipe for one of my favorite cocktails, Lemon Drop Martini and  I received a recipe request for something similar made with oranges.  I created this recipe with that request in mind.  I was pleased with the results!  This is a light citrus cocktail.  Perfect for any time of year.

Mandarin Martini

Ingredients:

4 oz  freshly squeezed mandarin orange juice

(about 2 oranges per drink)

½  oz orange liqueur

2 oz   vodka

Method:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. If you don’t like pulp, strain the orange juice.
  2. Pour the orange juice, orange liqueur and vodka in the shaker.  Shake until well chilled.  Serve in a martini glass.

    Happy New Year Lisa,
Thank you for introducing me to the food blog world! I have so enjoyed exploring your site and others over the past week. Your photos are great and enticing. I enjoy a good cocktail and look forward to trying your Mandarin Martini. I nicknamed a friend of mine “The Mix Master” because she mixes wonderful and pretty cocktails. I’ll have to turn her on to your blog and let her know she’s got competition :)
