
Hi! I’m Lisa.
Welcome to my food blog. I have always loved cooking. I grew up with a mom who is a foodie. She would watch PBS cooking shows on Saturday afternoon. The voices of Natalie Dupree, the Frugal Gourmet, Jacques Pepin, Julia Child, Sara Moulton and others filled the air. She read cookbooks like “Spoonbread and Strawberry Wine”. She is a wonderful cook and as a result my sister and I love to cook as well. I too adore cookbooks and have several shelves filled with them. I have a career and two children but squeeze as much time as I possibly can out of my busy schedule to work on my blog.
For me, cooking is love. The Dalai Lama has been quoted as saying,” Approach cooking and love with reckless abandon”. I completely agree. One of my favorite things is to have a few people over for cocktails and small plates of delicious food. This is my food journal of recipes for cocktails and small bites that I prepare for my family and friends. Some of the recipes are originals (although in this day and age are there really any “original” recipes?), some are classics and some are inspired by others.
